先日、４x世界チャンピオンのカリッサ・ムーア（HAW）が2020年のワールドサーフリーグ（WSL）の女子チャンピオンシップツアー（CT）を休止することを発表した。

カリッサファンとしては、2020年に彼女をCTツアーで見れないのは少し残念ではあるが、そのニュースが都筑有夢路の日本人女子初となるCTクオリファイを決定づけた。

都筑は、2019年WSLクォリファイ・シリーズ（QS）のランキングを８位でフィニッシュさせて、あと１歩のとこでCTクオリファイ（QSランキング7位まで）を逃していた。しかしカリッサ・ムーアが休戦を発表した事により、都筑が繰り上がりとなり2020年CT参戦が決定した。日本人として２人目のCT入り、オメデトウ。

2019年を振り返ると都筑は台湾で行われた2019年WSLワールドジュニアチャンピオンシップ、そしてスペインで開催されたWSL女子QS10000「ABANCAガリシア・クラシック・サーフPRO」で優勝という快挙を成し遂げた。日本のサーフィン界に激震を走らせた彼女はこの年末にさらに素晴らしいニュースを届けてくれた。

Hello everyone! I wanted to personally share with you that I have decided to take a break from competing on the championship tour in 2020. This is something that I have given a lot of thought. If I learned anything about myself the past few years, it’s that I am a 100%, all in person. I have dedicated the last ten years of my life to competing at the highest level and want to continue to do that well into my thirties. I realize how fortunate I am to do something I love everyday and as a career. This break is a press refresh so that I can come back to the tour happier and more excited than ever in 2021. With this time off, I want to expand my @moorealoha programs, work on a film project, go on some fun surf trips, improve my surfing and do things I haven’t had the chance to. I will still be competing in the 2020 Olympics. Want to thank all my sponsors and the @wsl for their positive response and the opportunity to do this. Excited to share this journey with all of you!
